SAP Offers Free Services

SAP to provide free IT consulting services to businesses affected by recent terrorist attacks and commits $3 million (U.S.) for aid for victims' families software group helps customers and other companies restore IT infrastructures free of charge.

NEW YORK, WASHINGTON, and WALLDORF, Germany - Sept. 14, 2001 - SAP (NYSE:SAP) today announced that the company is offering its consulting servicesfree of charge to assist in restoring IT infrastructures of organizations in New York City and Washington D.C. that were damaged in the recent terrorist attacks. The free services are offered to commercial enterprises as well as noncommercial agencies and organizations regardless of whether they are customers of SAP. The software group has also committed to donating $3 million (U.S.) to support individuals harmed by the tragedy as well as the families of victims.

Our more than 26,000 employees worldwide - including over 5,000 in the United States - are shocked at the enormous pain and loss inflicted upon individuals and the damage that many business infrastructures have incurred," said Hasso Plattner, co-chairman of the executive board, CEO and co-founder of SAP AG. "We feel that as a company we are in a position not only to make material contributions to support the individuals most gravely harmed in these attacks, but also to support the affected businesses and organizations by putting our expertise to work in order to expedite the return to smooth operations as quickly as possible."
