CSC Acquires AppLabs

CSC, a provider of IT-enabled business solutions and services with headquarters in Falls Church, Va., has acquire AppLabs Technologies Private Limited (Philadelphia), a provider of software testing and quality management services. The deal is expected to enhance CSC's application testing capabilities and complement its expertise across the several industries it provides consulting, systems integration, outsourcing and application services to, including the financial services sector.

"Application Services continue to play an increasingly important role as companies adopt new technologies and cloud-based services to improve the quality and performance and reduce the total cost of ownership of IT services," said Michael W. Laphen, chairman, president and CEO of CSC in a statement released with the announcement. "Acquiring AppLabs represents CSC's continued commitment to our intense focus on growing the company's applications development and management business as well as extending superior testing services to our clients and prospects."

The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.
