U.S. Bank Picks Viewpointe's Hosted Solution OnPointe for Content Management
Viewpointe, the New York-based provider of cloud-based information governance and payments exchange services, announced that U.S. Bank selected the vendor's hosted information governance platform, OnPointe, to manage the institution’s regulated communications and business content.
U.S Bank's initial goal is to improve the way it manages, classifies and governs the growing content in its email systems, the bank says. With OnPointe for Messaging, the bank will have access to features such as global search, retention management and text analytics. Through Viewpointe's information governance platform, the bank will be able to more efficiently collect, analyze, classify, retain, preserve and dispose of its content, according to the vendor.
"Over the past decade, Viewpointe has helped us provide world-class information management capabilities to both our customers and employees," said Robert Erickson, EVP, head of Infrastructure Services, U.S. Bank, in a press release.
OnPointe integrates technology and infrastructure to provide an information governance platform capable of managing all types of enterprise content via the cloud, the company says. Built as a modular service, OnPointe provides a comprehensive platform to address the information governance challenges typically faced with messaging, file shares, print stream, image, enterprise applications and e-discovery. In the case of U.S. Bank, OnPointe will additionally leverage key components of ZL Technologies Unified Archive, providing a seamless solution to help the bank:
- Enforce consistent application of retention policies and maintain control of critical data;
- Adhere to legal, regulatory and business mandates;
- Manage costs on a consumption basis, converting capital expenditures into expense; and
- Improve e-discovery processes.
"We believe OnPointe is the best choice to help us accomplish our immediate and long-term goals. We are evaluating additional OnPointe services for other areas such as our network file shares and high-volume print streams to further enhance and automate information governance across the bank," added Mark Brown, SVP, Distribution Technical Services, U.S. Bank, in the press release.
