Chinese Bank Deploys IT Service Management Software
The Bank of Communications, a large commercial bank in China, has deployed BMC IT service management software at its Shanghai data center and reports an increase in its level of IT service.
The bank is in the midst of a data centralization project begun in 2004, and faced challenges in monitoring and maintaining the multilayer and highly-distributed system. To ensure uptime operation and a level of IT service quality that a listed bank requires, the bank built an IT management system in its Shanghai data center based on the BMC Remedy ITSM suite. In compliance with ITIL best practices, the bank says the system has improved all aspects of the bank's IT management process.
"We have seen great improvements in all areas of our management system, including event and issue management, change management and configuration," said Sun Li, deputy senior manager of the production scheduler department, data center of Bank of Communications, in a statement. "BMC solutions are scalable and easy to use, making it convenient for us to upgrade the existent infrastructure and build a single, unified management platform complying with ITIL best practices."
