FinovateFall 2011 Recap, Day One
The first day of FinovateFall 2011 took place yesterday at Pier 92 in New York City. The conference, which is part of a series showcasing financial and banking technologies in a series of seven-minute presentations and demos, drew more than 900 attendees and 64 companies. Below is a brief rundown of some of the highlights from the first day.
- Segmint (Akron, Ohio) introduced SegmintSocial, a platform that helps banks gain better insight into their clients through Facebook with the aim of creating a more engaging and relevant social networking experience for customers.
- Transecq (Atlanta, Ga.) demonstrated Interactive Transaction Authentication, a user-friendly, two-factor authentication module that runs on its Entersect mobile electronic security platform.
- Micronotes (Cambridge, Mass.) showed KulaX, which it describes as "a cross-sell engine that enables financial institutions to leverage their online banking platform to generate more leads faster without interfering with core banking functions."
- Kony Solutions (Orlando, Fla.) announced a new mobile app that facilitates a banks' internal executive approval process, called Kony Commercial Banking. The solution works on all mobile devices, even tablets.
- MyCyberTwin (New York) came out with an artificial intelligence solution that uses virtual agents to interact with customers in real time.
- Authentify (Chicago) demonstrated 2CHK, which provides a two-way window into a customer's bank account that allows for the review, approval and cancellation of banking transactions.
- Backbase (New York) launched it's e-banking solution called the Retail Bank of the Future, which uses the newest User Experience (UX) patterns based on input gathered from customer research, industry thought leaders and UX specialists.
- Mootwin (Palo Alto, Calif.) demonstrated a solution designed to help banks maximize the mobile experience for their customers. The solution boasts easy integration into existing IT architecture, highly secure access and real-time delivery of financial information.
- Andera (Providence, R.I.) showed FortiFI, a technology that scans bank account applications to discover and flag fraud.
- Personal Capital (San Francisco) unveiled its wealth management service that combines high tech with high touch -- web and mobile apps with professional advisors that the company says are designed to deliver the kind of personalized wealth management service previously reserved for multi-millionaires.
