Sybase 365 Upgrades Mobile Commerce Platform
Mobile services provider Sybase 365 just released the next generation of its mobile commerce platform for developed and emerging markets. This new version of the platform supports mobile banking, mobile payments (wallet and stored value accounts) and mobile money.
Support for mobile money is a new addition to the platform, and the company says that the feature will allow financial institutions and their operators to provide branchless services to the underbanked population. Other new features of the platform include enhanced reporting, an operational dashboard, improved customer risk categories and the ability to configure customer types for specific use cases. Mobile CRM functionality that enables mobile marketing, surveys, and voucher and customer engagement capabilities is another addition to the mobile commerce platform.
"Mobile commerce is evolving at a rapid pace in both developed and emerging markets, and as it moves into the mainstream it puts huge demands on existing mobile banking and payment services," said John Sims, president of Sybase 365, in a news release. "Rather than dealing with thousands of customers and tens of transactions per seconds, you now need platforms that can scale to hundreds of millions of customers, and thousands of transactions per second. Our experience in building reliable and scalable systems that handle almost 2 billion mobile messages per day is at the core of this next generation platform."
