Sun National First NJ-Based Bank to Offer Mobile Banking
Sun National Bank ($3.5 billion in assets, based in Vineland, N.J., has partnered with mFoundry to launch Sun on Hand, a mobile banking solution for customers that includes text messaging, mobile web and application technology.
Sun on Hand lets Sun National Bank customers check account balances, search transaction history, transfer money, and pay bills via their mobile device. The program supports interactions via instant text messaging, mobile web browser, and mobile applications for use on the iPhone, iPod Touch, Blackberry and other major devices.
"Our customers are on-the-go, whether they are students or graduates, working professionals, or parents," said Ed Malandro, executive vice president at Sun National Bank, in a statement. "We are the first New Jersey-based bank to offer mobile banking. Sun on Hand addresses all the needs of today's banking customer by bringing the entire experience right to the palm of their hand. Their closest Sun National Bank branch will be wherever they are."
This new product was tailored and deployed in just a short period, according to the bank. "We are thrilled to have been able to deploy this customized offering just a few weeks after cementing our relationship with Sun National Bank," said Drew Sievers, CEO and co-founder of mFoundry. "This aggressive response to a critical need took full advantage of existing systems while incorporating the latest technological innovations. As the market continues to develop, we look forward to working with Fidelity Information Services to extend mobile banking delivery to SNB customers without online access."
