Regions Bank Expands Mobile Offerings

Regions Bank rolled out a series of new mobile apps, and introduced a new cashback rewards program for account holders that they can access from their mobile device.

Regions Bank announced last Friday that it would be introducing a new set of apps for its mobile channel for iPhone, Android and Blackberry, which, the bank said, will be faster and more streamlined for users. The Birmingham, Ala.-based bank ($122 billion in assets) is also rolling out a new iPad app that is optimized for retina display.

The apps allow customers to view balances and account details, transfer funds, pay bills and locate Regions branches and ATM's.

One of the key features of the bank's new mobile efforts is its Regions Cashback Rewards program that provides checking account holders with special merchant offers. Customers can make purchases with those merchants using their Regions VisaR CheckCard and then get cashback rewards deposited directly into their checking accounts. Regions Bank collaborated with Cardlytics to deliver the program's rewards offers.

Customers will be able to use their mobile banking apps to see all of the merchant offers available to them through the rewards program and activate them with their mobile device.
