Taking ATMs to the Next Level
Arab National Bank deploys Level Four ATM suite.
In an effort to improve ATM functionality and ensure delivery of high-availability service to its customers, Saudi Arabia-based Arab National Bank (ANB; more than $11.8 billion in assets at the end of 2002) implemented Level Four Software's (Miami) ATM Channel Development Suite during the fourth quarter of 2004. The vendor's software will support the development of new functionality across ANB's multivendor network of 300 ATMs throughout Saudi Arabia.
The technology has given ANB an upper hand in the market, according to Saifulmazli Said, the bank's Europay MasterCard Visa (EMV) project manager. "This gives the bank competitive advantage as it improves time to market for new ATM functionality," says Said. Level Four's suite includes ATM Developer and ATM Simulator, which provide automated regression testing for new ATM software and hardware, as well as EMV FastTrack, 3DES FastTrack, ATM Reporter and Load Group Manager.
As ANB expanded to an international market, it needed a solution to facilitate mandated upgrades in security, such as Europay Mastercard Visa, Triple DES and remote key management, Said relates. "Level Four's software suite will enable the bank to fully automate testing direct from the card, tracing the transactions through the ATM and the ACI BASE24 host system," he explains.
BMO Deploys Verint
Canada's BMO Bank of Montreal deployed New York-based Verint's ULTRA recording and analysis software across four networked customer contact centers that support the bank's credit card and direct banking operations in North America. The bank will use Verint's technology to capture and analyze all customer interactions - including telephone, Voice over IP, e-mail, chat and agent-assisted co-browsing contacts - to develop cross-selling opportunities.
NAB Implements SunGard
National Australia Bank (Sydney) implemented SunGard (Wayne, Pa.) subsidiary SunGard Trading and Risk Systems' Adaptiv system to manage global credit limits across its operations. NAB is able to centrally store credit information using Adaptiv, helping risk personnel to monitor global exposures against limits and manage exceptions on a real-time basis, according to SunGard. The bank also will use Adaptiv to improve its violation management and workflow as well as control of credit policies.
Caixa Catalunya Standardizes on BMC
Spanish banking group Caixa Catalunya (Madrid) has standardized on BMC Software's (Houston) Business Service Management (BSM) system to manage Caixa Catalunya's corporate IT infrastructure. BMC says the technology has enabled the bank to streamline IT processes and improve service delivery to branch offices and ATMs. The BMC system was implemented following the bank's move from a Unisys to an IBM mainframe environment.
