Fiserv Introduces New Digital Check Capturing System
Fiserv today unveiled its new Central Source Capture program that automates every step of the check capturing and processing operation. The program captures check images and data, and can route each check for posting or distribution according to rules set by the bank.
This will curtail the need for banks to use specialized resources for managing the movement and processing of paper checks, according to Fiserv, allowing banks to put their resources and attention to finding solutions for other issues.
"With Central Source Capture we are giving financial institutions a modern, cost effective item processing solution so that they can focus their resources on other areas within their institution where demand is growing," Gary Brand, director of Source Capture Solutions, Fiserv's remote deposit capture operation, said in a statement.
Brand added that even though check volumes are declining, check processing is still an important part of most financial institutions.
The Central Source Capture system is designed for use by large financial institutions, according to Fiserv, and integrates with remote capture applications and core account processing systems. The program can also be integrated with other remote capture programs provided by Fiserv through its Source Capture Solutions systems.
Fiserv will host a free webinar on June 14 on the Central Source Capture program for banks. The webinar will demonstrate how the program can help a bank with check processing costs, detecting duplicate checks and streamlining its check capturing and processing operation. To register, click here.
