Chase Adds Remote Deposit Capture, P2P Payments to iPhone App

In the most recent update to its Apple iPhone mobile banking app, New York-based Chase launched remote deposit capture and peer-to-peer payments.

Like the USAA iPhone app that's been available for more than a year, the Chase app works by allowing customers to take a picture of the front and back of an endorsed check. Chase is the first of the big four banks to offer this functionality.

The Chase Mobile for iPhone and iPod touch app also lets users pay bills and credit cards, transfer money between accounts and now make payments to others through transactions triggered by email.
