BofA Announces New Mobile Banking Apps for Android Tablets

The bank's new mobile releases include an app made specifically for Amazon's Kindle Fire and an app that works with Android 3.0+ tablets.

This week, Bank of America launched a tablet-optimized banking app for Android 3.0+ devices, as well as an app made specifically for Amazon's Kindle Fire.

Bank of America (Kindle Fire Edition) app and Android tablet app offer similar functions to the banks smartphone banking apps, including transaction and account overviews, bill pay and fund transfer, and the ability to locate ATMs and banking centers using GPS. However, the apps feature an enhanced user interface that's tailored specifically to Android 3.0+ tablets and the Kindle Fire. The apps take advantage of tablets' larger screen size by moving beyond the traditional ledger layout to blocks and tiles that can be tapped and swiped.

Customers can currently download the Bank of America banking app for Android tablets at the Google Play store (previously the Android Market). They can download the Bank of America (Kindle Fire Edition) at the Amazon Appstore.
