BB&T Launches Android Mobile App
Winston-Salem, N.C.-based BB&T Corp. on Tuesday launched a version of its mobile app for Android.
"Today's clients are always connected and require a quick, convenient way to manage their accounts and access our banking services," said Howard Brooks, BB&T Electronic Delivery Channels manager. "BB&T is committed to providing the most up-to-date enhancements in the mobile arena to meet our clients’ lifestyle needs and help them make the best financial decisions based on how they wish to bank with us."
BB&T Mobile Banking, now available through Google's Android Marketplace completes BB&T's trifecta of downloadable mobile applications, joining those the bank released last year for RIM BlackBerry and Apple iOS devices. The Android app lets customers: check account balances and transactions, transfer funds, pay bills and use the phone's GPS to locate the nearest BB&T branch or ATM.
BB&T promotes itself as being one of only a few U.S. banks to offer a comprehensive mobile banking consumer and small business product suite, leveraging mobile Web, text message banking and downloadable mobile apps.
