American Red Cross Using RDC to Process Donations
While banking customers are enjoying the convenience of the mobile check deposit capture capture capabilities that more and more banks are rolling out, the American Red Cross is putting the same technology to a different use - collecting donations. The organization is using the technology to help in processing donations that it receives from its chapters around the country.
The Red Cross partnered with Panini, a payment solutions provider, which provided the hardware and support for the RDC solution, and FINI, a receivables management company that integrated its ETran software with the Red Coss's own systems to process a variety of payment types. The Red Cross made use of Panini's Vision X system for the back-end electronic capture of donations, and implemented Panini's wI:Deal imaging solution, according to a statement released by Panini.
The choice to use a mobile check deposit solution was driven by the Red Cross's desire to cut costs in processing donations, and put more of each donated dollar towards the cause that it works for, Steve Casey, corporate treasurer for the American Red Cross, said in the statement.
