Wincor Nixdorf joins IFX Forum ATM/POS Working Group; ITsecurity.com launches the Security Clinic Compendium; Strohl Systems Conference set for September in Chicago; Digital Insight launches free corporate seminars on cash management.

Wincor Nixdorf, a provider of ATM solutions has joined the Interactive Financial eXchange Forum, an organization dedicated to developing a robust XML framework for the electronic business-to-business exchange of data among global financial service institutions.

Specifically, Wincor Nixdorf will be playing a role in the IFX Forum's ATM/POS Working Group that is meant to create the necessary IFX messages in the areas of security, base service, banking service and media service to enable ATM and point-of-sale support for various devices. The goal is for financial institutions to use one standard message specification, IFX, across all delivery channels.

"Through our involvement in the IFX Forum, Wincor Nixdorf will play an active part in establishing vendor neutral, multi-channel delivery strategies, " said Bill Waugh, president of Wincor AutoTell, a majority-owned subsidiary of Wincor Nixdorf that provides software services for Wincor banking customers in North and South America. "Wincor Nixdorf supports the widespread adoption of XML messaging formats using a variety of different software architectures. The openness and interoperability enabled by IFX messages will give financial institutions true freedom of choice to select best-of-breed products and solutions."

ITsecurity.com has created a forum for users to voice their security problems and have them answered by various security experts.

The Security Clinic Compendium contains about 400 information security problems and solutions in a fully searchable application answered by experienced professionals. It is a single EXE that provides rapid full text searches across the entire database of both questions and answers.

"The Security Clinic is unique," said Kevin Townsend, editor of ITsecurity.com. "Our experts provide their help and advice completely free of charge--even though their commercial rate as security consultants is generally well in excess of $1,000 per day. It will benefit everyone from the home user through student of infosec to professional security managers in large organizations."

The Security Clinic Compendium costs $75 for a single workstation license and can be purchased by e-mailing [email protected].
