"The bank is preparing to meet the future regulatory requirements of Basel and the Dutch government. The Teradata data warehouse with a range of analytic applications will offer the needed insight into customers' financial needs and banking operations," Hans Fons, the managing director of Teradata's Dutch operations, said in a statement released by the company.
ABN AMRO chose to partner with Teradata at a time when data growth and more sophisticated business analytics are becoming more important to its business, according to the statement. The bank is planning to integrate data across its marketing, risk and corporate finance arms into the data warehouse.
