After several years of painful cuts, the market for IT talent in the financial services industry is strengthening.

The banking technology segment was a reasonably bright spot in a still-anemic U.S. jobs picture, according to the 2012 InformationWeek U.S. IT Salary Survey. That’s thanks in large part to growing demand for professionals with skills in data analysis, social media, app development and anything that can drive automation and efficiency.
