TeleCommunication Systems Offers Expanded Security Portfolio
TeleCommunication Systems, a provider of secure mobile communication technology, today announced the expansion of its Secure the Edge suite of products with the introduction of Security Broker and Secure Multimedia Communications.
According to the Annapolis, Md.-based company, Security Broker provides multi-level authentication services for users who automatically connect to a carrier network to access corporate data. Secure Multimedia Communications encrypts voice, video and machine-to-machine (M2M) data for mobile broadband communication on any device, as an end-to-end solution provided by operators for enterprise organizations and government agencies.
The new solutions are designed to support the increasing BYOD (bring your own device) trend, according to TeleCommunication Systems. AS the proliferation of BYOD continues, the multitude of access points to the network increases the risk of data leakage, said the company, and yet fewer than 1 in 20 smartphones have third party security installed.
"With the growing trend of BYOD in the workplace, the need to secure critical information is now a top IT challenge for commercial and government enterprise network operators," said Jay Whitehurst, SVP of the commercial software group at TeleCommunication Systems in a statement.
