Sterling Savings Rolls Out FSB Solutions’ Teller Deposit Automation Image-Capture Solution

Front-counter solution promises to increase banks' efficiencies and to speed transactions by truncating paper checks.

All 178 branches of Spokane, Wash.-based Sterling Savings Bank ($11.7 million in assets), a subsidiary of Sterling Financial Corp., now feature West Hills, Calif.-based Full-Service Banking (FSB) Solutions' front-counter Teller Deposit Automation solution. According to FSB, the system automatically reads and captures transaction data and item images, truncating paper checks and eliminating paper at the first point of presentment, resulting in faster transactions. Features of the complete end-to-end software solution include integration of FSB Teller with Open Solutions' TotalPLUS core processing platform, Goldleaf's image capture technology, and Orbograph's IQUA and image-recognition solutions. "The seamless interface we provide for Teller Deposit Automation ensures that our clients' teller lines will not only continue uninterrupted, but will actually see increased efficiencies," said Bob Pill, general manager of FSB Solutions, a division of S1 Corp. (Norcross, Ga.), in a release. "This solution set provides an important competitive advantage for us to reduce unit costs while improving our customer experience," added Kade Peterson, SVP and banking support director at Sterling, in the release. "Our ability to reduce data entry at the teller station and focus on our customers gives us that opportunity."
