Ryan Buckley Named New CIO at Unibank

Aiming to carry over its focus on customer service to the mobile and online banking channels, Whitinsville, Mass.-based Unibank ($645.4 million in assets) has hired information security expert Ryan Buckley as CIO. Buckley, a frequent lecturer on technology who spent the past five years as VP and director of enterprise information security for Providence, R.I.-based Citizens Financial Group (the U.S. arm of Royal Bank of Scotland), will have responsibility for all technical and operational functions at Unibank.

"In my new role I'll be focused on advancing Unibank's technology strategy in ways that bring the most modern and convenient services to customers," with a particular emphasis on mobile and online banking, Buckley relates. "We are proud of our community roots and our reputation for being easy to do business with."
