Visa Names New Global Head of Strategy and Corporate Development

Oliver Jenkyn will succeed Rupert Keeley as Visa Inc.'s Global Head of Strategy and Corporate Development.



Oliver Jenkyn, has been appointed global head of strategy and corporate development at San Francisco-based Visa, the company announced Wednesday in a press release.

In his new role, Jenkyn will be responsible for developing and managing Visa's corporate strategy across the 170 countries where it does business. He succeeds Rupert Keeley, who was recently appointed group president of Visa's Asia Pacific and CEMEA regions.

"Oliver has been a trusted advisor to Visa for several years, including important contributions to our global restructuring and IPO," Joseph W. Saunders, chairman and CEO of Visa, said in the press release.

Previously, Jenkyn worked as a partner for McKinsey & Company. Based out of the firm's San Francisco office, Jenkyn was a leader in McKinsey & Company's North American payments and retail banking practices. In that role, Jenkyn developed a special expertise in payments including all aspects of the card business (issuing, acquiring, processing), ACH, check processing and cash management, according to the release.

Jenkyn graduated from McGill University in Montreal with a bachelor's degree in economics and earned master's degrees in business and finance from Harvard University and Queens University. Prior to McKinsey, Jenkyn worked with Bain & Company's private equity group.
