SIBOS NEWS: Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi Picks PELICAN for SEPA
Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (BTMU) has become the first financial institution to adopt PELICAN for SEPA Software as a Service, a solution offered by ACE Software Solutions and Capgemini.
The service is offered jointly by ACE, a provider of payment, AML and STP solutions for the financial sector, and Capgemini BAS, a subsidiary of the Capgemini Group, a provider of application services in the Dutch market.
Initially BTMU has adopted the service in the Netherlands, for Amsterdam and Paris. Following this implementation, the service will be rolled-out to branches in London and the rest of BTMU's European network.
The PELICAN platform is designed to facilitate differentiated payments services through automation, leading to lower costs. It has gained industry recognition for its functionality, flexibility and availability with targeted industry specific versions for SEPA, SWIFT and corporate connectivity. The SEPA Direct Debit (SDD) initiative is also supported by PELICAN for SEPA. This enables direct debit originators to collect Euro payments on any of the SEPA countries, including their own domestic direct, debits using a single service, rather than the country specific service in use today.
PELICAN for SEPA provides clients the ability to rapidly adapt to any future changes in the payments processing environment. By giving access to the PELICAN for SEPA solution via a SaaS approach, users can take advantage of the system for head office or multiple branch access.
