News from Sibos: ACI To Create Wholesale Payments Solution Via IBM Payments Framework
Geared toward helping banks with SEPA compliance, ACI Worldwide, Inc., will create an integrated wholesale payments solution optimized on IBM's System z platform. The first release of this solution, which will build on ACI's Money Transfer System (MTS), will be available by the end of 2008. The new MTS-eps will provide a consolidated solution capable of processing both low- and high-value payments in a single system. The first stage increases the functionality of existing SEPA solutions by incorporating the IBM Payments Framework on IBM System p. Subsequent stages will incorporate functionality for middle office processing, bulk (ACH) processing and settlement, and RTGS processing and settlement. It will be built on BIM SmartSOA Foundation, IBM Information Management, and Tivoli management middleware.
"For ACI, this is a strong roadmap to take and create a wholesale product in SOA," says Barry Rhodes, vice president, enterprise payments solution, ACI. "It's a low-risk, rather than big-bang, approach. It gives customers a solution to evolve to as we develop the roadmap, but on their timeline."
