NCR and Document Capture Offer Bundled RDC Solution
Earlier this week, NCR Corporation (Duluth, Ga.) announced a partnership with and Document Capture Technologies (DCT; San Jose) that will allow it to offer a new remote deposit capture (RDC) hardware and software bundle for financial institutions to offer to small businesses.
The solution provides a remote self-service terminal to customers that integrates NCR APTRA Commercial Passport with a scanner from DCT and a specialized scanner software driver from Silver Bullet Technology, which will allow NCR to provide technical support to customers, according to a press release. The commercial passport solution allows a financial institution's business customers to capture check images and transmit a balanced, electronic deposit via the Web to its central operations for final validation and settlement.
"NCR selected DCT's unique DocketPORT terminal to extend our self-service suite and provide a cost-effective RDC option to our customers," Bill Nuti, chairman and chief executive officer of NCR, said in the press release. "Due to the low-cost and performance of the DCT terminals compared with other available options, we expect adoption to accelerate as broad acceptance of RDC begins to take hold."
NCR will resell the DCT terminals to financial institutions and businesses as the NCR Personal Scanner.
