NACHA NEWS: Epson Provides New Check Scanner Offerings

Two bits of news coming from Epson at Payments 2009 deal with a new series of scanners the company is introducing—a 90 DPM version of its CaptureOne desktop check scanner and a suite of scanners designed for small business payment processing.

The new 90 DPM model adds to Epson's existing 30 and 60 DPM CaptureOne scanner models. Features include a 90 DPM scan rate, the highest MICR accuracy in its class and high-quality imager. The company says the new version of CaptureOne is ideal for branch back counter check processing, commercial accounts windows and high-volume Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) applications where speed, accuracy and maximum throughput are essential to workflow efficiency.

The small business product line consists of three scanners, including the CaptureOne Single-Feed check scanner, the Perfection V30 flatbed check and document scanner, and the WorkForce 500 All-in-One Scanner with print, copy, fax and photo capabilities. The Perfection V30 and WorkForce 500 combine custom RDC software with the multifunction scanning and document processing devices. The CaptureOne Single-Feed scanner offers the highest MICR accuracy of any competitive single-feed RDC device in its class, claims Epson.
