MIG Acquires Zaypay
Global mobile and digital technology business Mobile Interactive Group (MIG) today announced it has acquired the global micropayments business Zaypay.
Based in the Netherlands, Zaypay is a mobile micropayments business that launched in 2006. The company, which will continue to operate as a standalone business, allows customers to make international micropayments through SMS, phone calls, and with apps.
"MIG's vision for Zaypay is to build a one-stop shop for online and mobile monetization solutions to merchants, online billing providers and developers globally," said Barry Houlihan, CEO an founder of MIG, in a prepared statement. "We understand that developers are driving our industry now and Zaypay is a platform that has been built by developers, for developers. Our aim is to build stronger relationships specifically with the developer community, to provide developers with a frictionless payment system that's tailored to their platforms and to further understand and support their requirements around monetization on an international scale."
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. MIG is headquartered in London and has U.S. offices in Santa Monica, Calif.
