Former BB&T Exec Joins SunTrust as Head of Treasury & Payment Solutions

Eric Brewer has joined Atlanta-based SunTrust Banks ($170.8 billion in total assets) as executive vice president and head of treasury and payment solutions. Brewer will be responsible for treasury management sales, treasury management services, commercial card services, merchant services, treasury product management, business deposit management and global trade services. He will report to Mark Chancy, who recently was named wholesale banking executive, a newly created post overseeing SunTrust's wholesale banking businesses aligned as one integrated organization.

Prior to joining SunTrust, Brewer led the treasury product business line for BB&T Corp. and served as president of Creative Payment Solutions, a wholly owned BB&T subsidiary that offers electronic payment products and services to financial institutions for resale to their clients. He previously served as head of Europe, Middle East and Africa regional transaction banking and cash flow advisory sales for ABN AMRO.
