FIS Adds Discover to Card Processing Capabilities
Jacksonville, Fla.-based banking and payments technology vendor FIS announced today it reached an agreement with Discover Financial Services to process cards accepted over the Discover network. FIS already supports card networks for Visa, MasterCard, American Express and proprietary card brands.
According to FIS, one in four U.S. households use a Discover Card. Discover's domestic card business has more than $46 billion in receivables.
"Adding the Discover Network to FIS' card processing offerings provides FIS clients, and the end user, with more options for their credit card needs," said Frank D'Angelo, executive vice president, FIS Payment Solutions Group, in a prepared statement.
FIS processes 70 million credit cards, 125 million debit cards and more than 180 million prepaid cards globally.
