Republic Bancorp Inc. (Pepper Pike, Ohio) has promoted David G. Stickel to president of retail banking for Republic Bank, in Ohio. Stickel began his career at Republic Bank in 1990 and most recently was regional president for retail banking.

Mellon Promotes Shearan

Pittsburgh-based Mellon Financial Corp. announced the promotion of Kevin L. Shearan, head of technology delivery, to executive vice president. Shearan is responsible for directing the activities of software engineers and application developers throughout the corporation. He also oversees development of Mellon's technology strategy and corporate information security. A member of Mellon's Senior Management Committee since 2001, Shearan joined the bank in 1997.

United States (Washington, D.C.) has hired Fernanda Young as CIO. Young most recently occupied a similar position with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. She also held technical managerial positions at the U.S. Department of Justice and NASA.

BofA Promotes Mandell to Head Global FX Push

Christiane Mandell has been named head of the Bank of America Global Foreign Exchange group, with 14 sales, trading and research centers worldwide. Previously, Mandell had been head of investor client management for equities and debt, and head of institutional sales for the bank's debt platform.
