Eric Kamback to Head Treasury Services at The Bank of New York Mellon

Eric Kamback has been named CEO of The Bank of New York Mellon's ($1.1 trillion in assets under management) treasury services group. Kamback, who was previously deputy head of treasury services for the New York-based firm, has assumed responsibility for the company's global payments, trade services and cash management businesses. He succeeds Robert Stasik, who is retiring after 35 years with the firm to pursue other opportunities.

Kamback, who joined The Bank of New York Mellon in 1980, has had a significant role in the growth of a broad range of BNY Mellon businesses, including mutual funds, asset servicing, corporate trust and shareowner services. Most recently he has focused on developing technology-driven products and services in the areas of global mass payments, global remittances and image-based deposit products, and increasing the global presence of the treasury services group, significantly expanding its client base worldwide.

Technology, Kamback says, will play a key role as he looks to further optimize the bank's treasury practice. "Our approach to technology is based on two fundamental principles," he explains. "First, technology is absolutely central to our business strategy — technology-based product and service innovations give us an outperformance edge in meeting client needs as a provider of a broad array of treasury services. Second, technology plays a major role in our unique position as a leading provider of private label and back-office processing outsourcing services to other banks."
