Citi Announces New Mobile Solution

Citigroup (New York, $1.9 trillion in assets) announced it is rolling out a browser-based mobile app designed to allow clients to receive notifications and authorize payments via their smartphone.

The offering, called CitiDirect BE Mobile, has been made available to over 50,000 clients worldwide.

The bank said clients using the app can receive SMS alerts that complement email and fax notifications, and authorize payments pending approval in every payment type supported by the online banking platform.

CitiDirect BE Mobile is currently live in 24 countries around the world, including the U.S., and will be rolled out globally throughout the remainder of the year. At completion, the solution will be available in over 100 countries.
