Bank of NY Mellon Adds SMS to Remit Worldwide Service

The Bank of New York Mellon has rolled out a new texting feature for its Remit Worldwide application, a white-label service provided by BNY Mellon's client banks to deliver remittance services to their retail customers.

Remit Worldwide Alert uses SMS functionality to facilitate text message notifications to nearly 200 countries worldwide. It provides information about incoming payments for beneficiaries to pick up the remittance at Remit Worldwide-authorized payout locations. The bank says the new SMS service allows for easier communication regarding remittance payment information without the need for voice or e-mail communication.

BNY Mellon's treasury services group provides Remit Worldwide as part of an its portfolio of enterprise treasury services solutions, which includes cash management, trade and back-office outsourcing services.
