National Bank of Canada's New York State operations will use a custom outsourcing solution from Fiserv; Ventura County Credit Union will provide enhanced online banking services to its members by converting to Voyager Special Edition (SE) from Corillian Corporation; KeyBank will implement an enterprise analytics package from INEA Corporation.

National Bank of Canada will use a custom outsourcing solution from Fiserv, Pittsburgh, to provide back-office and ASP services to the New York State operations.

In the multi-year agreement, the National Bank of Canada also will expand its data and item processing relationships in New York with Fiserv.

In the back office, Fiserv will provide for all deposit operations functions for the bank, including opening and maintaining accounts and customer relationships and system reconcilement. In addition, the ASP services agreement will eliminate the need for National Bank of Canada to operate and maintain its current IBM iSeries platform, thus reducing operating expenses.

"We went through a vendor selection process that involved multiple criteria, including vendor experience and track record, price and product breadth. Fiserv was the obvious choice," said Jim Mulqueen of the National Bank of Canada. "We have a strong track record with Fiserv. The partnering has been a good relationship in the past and, going forward, I believe it will get even stronger."

Ventura County Credit Union, Ventura, Calif., will provide enhanced online banking services to its members by converting to Voyager Special Edition (SE) from Corillian Corporation, Portland, Ore.

Ventura County Credit Union will use Corillian Voyager SE to continue providing its more than 36,000 members with real-time online access to all of their financial accounts to reconcile account balances, transfer funds and pay bills. Corillian Voyager SE will provide personalization options to allow members to customize how their financial information is presented. It will also provide integration with the Open Financial Exchange (OFX) data standard to allow members real-time access to their financial information through personal finance management software like Intuit's Quicken and Microsoft Money.

"We were looking for an online banking solution that would give us the flexibility we wanted while providing personalization options for our members," said Carol Harris, CEO and president of Ventura County Credit Union. "Corillian Voyager Special Edition gives us a greater range of functionality for our members, open architecture to allow for the seamless integration of new applications and a member-friendly user interface that will make our online banking service easier to use."

KeyBank will implement an enterprise analytics package from INEA Corporation, Toronto. INEA will enable KeyBank to integrate its performance management system and better understand how to create business value and gain competitive advantage.

The INEA suite of Web-enabled analytics application software helps financial organizations measure, analyze and predict a holistic view of corporate performance and profitability--accurately, and cost-effectively.

When choosing an analytics platform to replace its former planning and reporting system, KeyBank went beyond simply implementing generic software. The Bank recognized the need to deploy a Web-enabled analytics application suite built specifically for financial institutions that would support an integrated system for planning, forecasting, performance measurement, and management reporting. Future plans include supporting an activity-based costing system and product profitability models. INEA replaced a highly customized Hyperion-based system.

"We looked at INEA as a way to help with data integration and enable a common forecasting and reporting platform across KeyBank's different systems," said Elizabeth McCaffery, director, Management Reporting and Financial Systems, KeyBank. "Plus, the fact that INEA is geared to banks enabled us to leverage rich analytics functionality right out-of-the-box, at a fraction of the cost of a more generic solution that would require customization to meet our needs."
