SAP, Samsung Parter on Mobile, Wearable Technology
SAP and Samsung announced this week that the two companies will partner to create enterprise solutions for mobile devices and wearables in a number of industries, including financial services. The announcement was made during the SAP TechEd conference happening this week in Berlin.
According to the companies, the collaboration is designed to allow for developers to build solutions that can leverage the popularity of Samsung mobile devices and the SAP mobile platform, as well as to leverage joint cloud solutions based on the SAP HANA cloud platform. Additionally, there are plans to eventually integrate payments into this new ecosystem.
"It is intended that the combination will allow the extension of enterprise applications in a secure, intuitive manner to the extended workforce and help provide businesses with shorter time to market, quicker access to revenue streams, and improved real-time decision support to executives and the workforce," reads a statement issued by the two companies.
Specifically regarding financial services, SAP and Samsung said they intend to co-develop mobile solutions for both banking and insurance cutovers. Additionally, The two companies plan to co-innovate solutions to deliver "smarter banking services and enhance the onsite banking experience for visitors with innovative mobile solutions, printers, and large-format displays."
