Website Offers Help to Laid-Off Finance Workers
With all the layoffs that have hit the financial services sector, many professionals are finding it tough to find work in a job market that is generally depressed. To combat this problem, Kaine Alozie has launched BankingorBust.com, a website dedicated to helping former finance workers find new employment.
Alozie was himself a victim of the financial services job cuts when he lost his job as an investment banker. After becoming frustrated with the lack of new employment opportunities, he decided to put his expertise in career counseling and as president of the MBA Finance Club to work to help others like him navigate an increasingly competitive marketplace.
BankingorBust.com offers students and job-seekers resources to prepare for careers in the hard-hit financial services industry. "Some of the most affected by this recession are laid-off junior and mid-level professionals who are equally frustrated by the behavior of executives at their former firms," said Alozie in a statement.
The site features a range of free resources, including finance job postings, finance coursework, resume tips, sample interview questions and forums to promote group support and education. It also offers cost-effective courses in financial analysis for students on a budget.
