The interbank messaging network also announced other executive appointments.

SWIFT announced that Chief Information Officer and Head of Information Technology and Operations Mike Fish has retired after 15 years. He will officially stepping down Jan. 31 2015, and SWIFT is currently assessing possible replacements.

Fish joined SWIFT in 1999 from telecom firm Ameritech, where he held various senior management positions in IT. He was appointed Chief Information Officer at SWIFT in July 2006, and has been responsible for overseeing transformation projects such as the SWIFTNet messaging platform migration and the construction of a new operating center in Switzerland. During his tenure he has also led the development and launch of a number of new commercial services.

Further, the member-owned cooperative also announced today the appointments of Christopher Johnson and Fedra Ware as Practice Leads, Compliance Services, in the Americas.

In these newly created positions, Johnson and Ware will lead SWIFT’s efforts in financial crime compliance, Know Your Customer (KYC), and anti-money laundering (AML) domains, among others.
