SunTrust Names New President, Expands CFO Role
Atlanta-based SunTrust Banks, Inc. has named a new president, William Rogers, Jr., currently corporate executive vice president in charge of the bank's wholesale, mortgage and wealth & investment management businesses. Rogers will be responsible for SunTrust's geographic banking organization; the retail, commercial, mortgage, and wealth & investment management businesses; and corporate marketing.
SunTrust's chairman and chief executive officer James Wells III said the new appointment and expanded CFO role represent "the latest steps in the ongoing and orderly evolution of our executive management configuration consistent with the company's long-term strategic focus."
In addition, Mark Chancy, SunTrust's chief financial officer, will add to his current duties an expanded accountability for the corporate & investment banking business and also the company's chief administrative officer organization which continues under the direction of David Dierker.
William Reed, Jr., SunTrust vice chairman, currently in charge of SunTrust's geographic banking organization, will assume new responsibilities in connection with transition matters related to the new organizational structure.
