StrikeForce Technologies Files Patent Suit Against Microsoft, Fiserv, First Midwest
Edison, N.J.-based StrikeForce Technologies last week filed a patent infringement lawsuit against PhoneFactor, a Microsoft subsidiary, Fiserv and First Midwest Bancorp, Inc. in U.S. District Court.
StrikeForce claims its patent, "Multichannel Device Utilizing A Centralized Out-of-Band Authentication System (COBAS),” which relates to several key technologies underlying a multichannel security system for granting and denying access to a host computer in response to a demand from an access-seeking individual and computer, was violated.
StrikeForce claims in the lawsuit that PhoneFactor offers an account authentication solution that uses similar features and technologies as its patented product. The company further alleges that Fiserv and First Midwest have violated the patent through their use of the product.
Microsoft and PhoneFactor declined to comment on the lawsuit at this time.
