Peter Sany Named CTO and Head of ITI at UBS
Zurich-based UBS has named Peter Sany chief technology officer and head of ITI, effective April 1, 2009. He will be based in Zurich.
Sany is an industry veteran with international and multi-industry experience. He currently holds the position of group chief information officer for Deutsche Telekom AG in Bonn, Germany with global responsibility for all internal information technology and processes. He started his career at IBM where he spent 14 years in different roles with increasing national and international responsibility. From 1997 to 2004, Peter worked at Novartis, ultimately holding the position of Corporate and Pharma Division CIO.
Sany succeeds Scott Abbey who will transition out of his current responsibilities. Together with the business divisions, Abbey was instrumental in the work that led to the formation of ITI in 2004 and resulted in substantial cost efficiencies for the firm. Scott has carried his current role for almost five years.
