JP Morgan Chase Encourages Employees to Volunteer on Sept. 11

The bank is observing the 10th anniversary of the tragedy by honoring those impacted with volunteer services and a memorial film screening.

New York-based JP Morgan Chase is encouraging its 190,000 U.S. employees to volunteer during the nationwide day of service established to honor those affected by the terrorist attack of Sept. 11, 2001. The day of service will take place this coming Sunday, which marks the 10th anniversary of the tragedy.

For this tribute, JPMorgan Chase has partnered with MyGoodDeed and The Hands On Network to support employee volunteer opportunities across the U.S., including activities with military veterans, school and playground cleaning, and community art projects. The bank will also host a memorial to the victims of the Sept. 11 attack and a screening of a film about survivors in its New York headquarters.

"Sept. 11, 2001 was a watershed in U.S. history, not only for the tragedy that occurred but even more so for the enormous outpouring of compassion and action displayed by citizens rushing to help others," said Jamie Dimon, Chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase in a news release. "On the 10th anniversary of these terrible attacks, we want to be part of a very important effort, making Sept. 11 a day where we set time aside to honor those who were lost and those who served by volunteering in their honor."
