If there is to be growth in the banking industry, it probably is going to depend largely on the ability of financial institutions to compete profitably and securely in emerging markets.While South Africa is not included in the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China) acronym that is enticing many companies, it represents the promise -- and risk -- of the African market.
