Chu Leaves Citi for LivingSocial

The former head of digital at Citi is now the head of merchant solutions for the daily deals site.

Dickson Chu has left his position as the head of digital and mobile for Citi to join LivingSocial, the daily deals outfit announced Wednesday.

Chu, whose new title is senior vice president for merchant solutions, will help will develop and promote products and services to meet the marketing and operational needs of local merchants as head of the Merchant Solutions division, according to LivingSocial.

Dickson joined Citi a little less than two years ago from PayPal, where he was the director of mobile product strategy and development. At Citi, Chu served as Managing Director of Digital Networks in the company's Global Enterprise Payments unit, directing the development of new payments capabilities for mobile, online and technology companies.

At PayPal, Chu was part of the initial leadership team that developed the merchant services business and served as general manager of that unit from 2006 to 2008. Before PayPal, Chu was general manager for Yahoo! PayDirect
