Bruce Livesay Takes Helm of Revamped First Horizon IT Team

First Horizon has completed a total overhaul of its top technology office. In addition to the appointment of two new deputy CIOs, Auzzie Kennedy Brown and Randall Carrier, the Memphis-based bank also hired a new CIO, former Regions Bank (Birmingham, Ala.) SVP of application delivery Bruce Livesay.

Livesay, who replaces the retired Patrick Ruckh (one of BS&T's 2006 Most Innovative CIOs), takes charge of the bank's entire IT department. "As CIO, I have full responsibility for delivery of information services to our customers, both within the organization as well as customer-direct via alternative delivery channels," he says, noting that one of his first priorities will be to examine how the IT organization reflects First Horizon's commitment to a customer focus. According to Livesay, he will draw up "an action-oriented three-year plan" after conducting a full review.

"No topic is considered off-limits," he relates. "I also intend to review our alignment and service delivery model. ... First Horizon has seen a number of changes over the past year and it will be critical to properly align the IT organization with the broader organizational changes."

One area of particular significance to the business is the bank's digital strategy. "Our digital strategy will not be limited to our Web presence alone," Livesay notes. "We will leverage our enterprise service bus engine to deliver a seamless cross-channel, cross-line-of-business experience tailored specifically to the needs of each customer."
