IBM Offers New SOA Software, Services
IBM on Wednesday unveiled software and services for organizations adopting a service oriented architecture, a form of standards-based distributed computing.
Called SOA Governance, IBM's new offering includes technology, best practices and processes for adopting an SOA infrastructure. Issues addressed include measuring business goals, aligning IT to meet those goals and tracking business performance.
"We have the tools, templates, experience and methodologies to help bring business and IT stakeholders into a productive discussion," Danny Sabbah, general manager of Rational Software at IBM, said in a statement.
Among the tools from the Rational division in the SOA offering is the Rational Data Architect, which helps organizations adopt and enforce corporate and industry standards on data models. Other tools are available through IBM Tivoli, which offers IT management technology; and WebSphere, infrastructure software for application development, integration and management.
SOA Governance also includes help from IBM Business Consulting Services.
