Former CFPB Official to Lead BITS Fraud Reduction Program
Diane Ness has joined BITS, the technology policy division of The Financial Services Roundtable (Washington, D.C.), as Vice President, Fraud Reduction. She comes to BITS from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), where she served as a Consumer Response Investigator.
In her new role, Ness will be the hands-on lead for fraud program initiatives, bring together working groups to address fraud topics coming before the industry.
Prior to her work at CFPB, she was an Investigation Specialist at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. She also served as VP of Investigations and Fraud Strategy at Fifth Third Bank and as VP of Investigations at Key Bank.
"Diane's extensive experience with addressing financial fraud, from the private sector, government, and consumer perspectives, coupled with her deep knowledge of the issues, makes her the right person to lead fraud reduction initiatives on behalf of our members," said Paul Smocer, BITS president, in a press release.
