Corillian Corporation, a Portland, Ore.-based global provider of eFinance solutions for the Internet, announced that its board of directors has promoted the company's president, Alex Hart, to interim chief executive officer. Hart replaces Ted Spooner, the company's founder and previous CEO, who has been appointed chairman of the executive committee of the board of directors. Spooner will also assume the newly created role of chief corporate strategist in which he will provide Corillian's executive management with assistance, guidance and direction on long-term industry and corporate issues. Corillian will initiate a formal CEO search and begin attracting and evaluating qualified candidates immediately. Hart, who is a candidate in the CEO search, joined Corillian in April 2000 as executive vice president of corporate development and has served as the company's president since January 2001.
