Executive Changes

Gary Pzegeo appointed vice president at Gannett Welsh & Kotler Inc.; Chris McCarthy named vice president key account sales at ExpertPlan; Steven Laskowski joins GuardedNet as vice president of worldwide sales; Colleen Carlsted appointed executive vice president of Bridge Bank of Silicon Valley; David Clark named head of business development for e-portals.

Gary Pzegeo has been appointed vice president and portfolio manager of taxable fixed income strategies for Gannett Welsh & Kotler Inc. (GW&K), a Boston-based firm that provides a broad spectrum of investment strategies to high net-worth individuals and institutions. Prior to joining Gannett Welsh & Kotler, Pzegeo spent 11 years at Evergreen Investments where he was a managing director in the fixed income group. He was responsible for strategy creation, asset allocation, portfolio management and security analysis.

Chris McCarthy was named vice president for Key Account Sales at ExpertPlan, a Cranbury, N.J.-based Internet provider of retirement plan administration to financial institutions. In this role, McCarthy will be responsible for several large national accounts as well as third party administrator (TPA) distribution. He was most recently head of TPA sales for American Skandia. Prior to American Skandia, he worked for CitiGroup and First Data.

Steven Laskowski has joined GuardedNet, an Atlanta-based developer of threat management and information security operations software, as vice president of worldwide sales. Laskowski was previously at Internet Security Systems (ISS), where he was one of the original members of the management team. He also held sales management positions with Epoch Systems (acquired by EMC) and Intel Corporation.

Colleen Carlsted was appointed executive vice president of Bridge Bank of Silicon Valley. Previously, Carlsted was an executive vice president at Cupertino National Bank, a $2 billion subsidiary bank of Greater Bay Bancorp. At Cupertino National, she managed the real estate, commercial, and SBA lending groups, as well as a deposit acquisition team.

David Clark has been named head of business development for e-portals, a London-based company that has developed Web-based treasury services using Microsoft's .Net framework. As head of business development, Clark will focus on three specific objectives as part of e-portals overall growth strategy: establishing strategic and commercial relationships with key early adopter banking and software partners; building awareness of e-portals' X-Treasury product set as the first solution to harness next generation internet technology for the treasury systems marketplace; and deploying the appropriate infrastructure to support e-portals sales and marketing operations. Clark was previously with MKI Frustum where he was responsible for the EMEA sales and marketing function of the OPICS Treasury solution.
