BofA Rolls Out Mobile Brokerage Service
Bank of America (Asia), has introduced wireless brokerage services in Hong Kong.
Offered in collaboration with 724 Solutions, the services allow customers to access real-time wireless stock trading, quotes and other brokerage services with various Internet-enabled mobile devices, such as WAP mobile phones and personal digital assistants (PDAs), regardless of the network carrier. The wireless brokerage services are an extension of the bank's wireless banking service, which was launched last year.
Available brokerage services include free real-time stock quotes, electronic straight-through order processing via AMS/3, order status and history inquiry, portfolio holdings market value, SMS/e-mail order confirmation, user-defined stock watch lists and 24-hour order placement. The personalized alert service via different channels is also planned for the third quarter 2002.
"We are always at the edge of providing new convenient financial services to our customers. Besides comprehensive basic wireless banking services, real-time stock trading is demanded by our customers," according to Samuel Tsien, president and chief executive officer, Bank of America (Asia).
724 Solutions hopes the introduction will generate interest among other banks throughout Asia-Pacific.
