A Teaching Tool for the Masses

New York-based JPMorgan Chase rolled out a new learning management tool from SumTotal Systems (Mountain View, Calif.). SumTotal's Pathlore LMS Enterprise release 6.5 is an enterprise platform solution for analyzing, storing and delivering learning. (SumTotal acquired Pathlore in October 2005.) JPMC will use the software to instruct 170,000 employees in 20 countries on job skills, compliance and regulatory issues. "We purchased Pathlore LMS 6.5 to manage our enterprise learning," said Judy Albers, first vice president of integrated development technologies at JPMC, in a release.

According to SumTotal, its system is used by financial institutions to help reduce the time and costs involved with developing and training a workforce, as well as to simplify compliance audits. Features include advanced class resource scheduling and integration with the vendor's Content Developer's Assistant, Microsoft (Redmond, Wash.) Exchange and Microsoft reporting services, along with enhanced administration, design and skills management systems. *
