Michael Ong Named Chief Risk Officer at Heritage Bank

San Jose, Calif.-based Heritage Bank of Commerce has named Michael Ong to the position of EVP and chief risk officer. Ong has more than 35 years of banking experience and, according to the bank, has a reputation as a manager who develops teams and mentors high-potential employees into executive ranks. Ong also has a proven track record in all facets of commercial lending and credit risk management. He formerly held posts within First Bank and Comerica Bank. In his new position, Ong will be responsible for risk control in various areas of Heritage Bank, including credit, compliance, loan services and legal.
